Fruitful Family

Week One

Thank you for joining us in our church-wide series: Fruitful
We're grateful to bring you and your family along on this journey where we discover more of what does it mean to be fruitful according to the Bible.

Step 1 - Read Galatians 5:19-25

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
-Galatians 5:19-25 NIV

Step 2 - Pray

Get alone and pray. Set aside distractions and silence your phone. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you where the fruits of His spirit is active and inactive in your life. Take time to listen to Him. Write down what he tells you.

Step 3 - Discuss With Others

Over a meal with friends or family, ask and discuss the following questions:

  • Referring to Galatians 5:22-23, which fruit of the spirit seems to be missing from your home or life?
  • When was the last time you experienced one of the fruits of the spirit in you or someone else?
  • What is one fruit of the spirit you want to focus on?
